It has rained every single day in Ottawa and you know how much we value summer here... winter and tons of snow will be coming soon enough.

Fuck.

Oh god finally someone that sees what I see about the weather here! I'm also from Cape Breton Breigh, and I totally relate to what you have said... I'm SICK of the rain, I've just returned from 3 weeks in CB to visit my family, and to return to dark, rainy, humid weather was terrible... and kind of depressing....
Fingers crossed that we see some sun soon for both of us :)

I totally agree. Every time I get ready to go do something out in the sun, the clouds roll in. And if it is cloudy all day long, if the sun does get out, I have no motivation to step outside in the bucket of sweat that is Holland. I can't wait to go back to New England this fall and hopefully have some normal weather!

Sonya - I'm so glad it's not just me. A while back I complained about the humidity (a few years ago) and an Australian friend lectured me on how much more humid it is in places in Asia. I thought hrmm maybe it really IS just the weight I've gained. Now I know for SURE it really is a sticky mess here.

Marit - When I think of Ethiopia and Kenya I think HOT HOT HOT but it may not be so bad if it's also DRY DRY DRY haha Hope you are enjoying your holiday!

Nicola - You know, for some reason I haven't been reading your blog and I don't know why! I must have forgotten to add it to my reader at some point and have been missing it. I've subscribed now so you'll never get rid of me. That elephant is ADORABLE!!!!!!! Oh my word I totally want to make one! I'm jealous! I know only very basic quilting. Squares, Triangles and Rectangles. So I'd never be able to pull something like that off. Dammit!

I'll have more pics of Pixel soon for you! :)

I've only visited more humid climates briefly, but I always remember how awful it is!! On a complete unrelated topic, I finally finished a quilting project on the weekend and wanted to share it with you. I know you don't read my blog (least I think you don't), but I always admire your projects and so I wanted to share one with you: http://inblognito.blogsome.com/2008/08/11/project-elephant-complete/

Also, would love to see more pics of that little cutie Pixel! Still can't get over what an awesome name you picked out :-)

Yep, yucky yucky weather. I had worse when I lived in Louisiana, but so much better when I lived in Ethiopia and Kenya.
Dry heat just makes one feel SOOOOO much better!

I can totally relate to you on this one. I am so sick of the sticky weather. It's not a pleasure to go anywhere here when it's like that..inlcuding the damn stores that refuse to put any A/C on! You hover between depression because there is no sun during the summer and relief when the warmth does go away because you are sick of feeling gross all the time. We had dry heat in California while we lived there for awhile and it does make a difference..it's still hot but atleast your clothes are sticking to you. I'm originally from Oregon and it gets humid there but nowhere near what we get here. Im so grumpy about that.
Thats so funny about the puppy foldng up origami-style! LOL I feel for ya!
