Holy crap, can you believe it?!! I remember when I started the countdown on my header, it was 68 days until Christmas and now it’s here!
This is where Xander and I will spend Christmas Eve – in front of the tree, behind our laptops, just the way we like it! Ok, I’m sure I’d probably prefer to be visiting family, and I did have a minor meltdown about that last night, but it was to be expected. I don’t think any expat truly makes it through the holidays without at least a little jag of homesickness. That has passed now and I feel better. Maybe we’ll go out and do something, perhaps a movie… but if not I’m happy to stay home and just hang out and be geeky together. It’s what we do.
On Christmas day I’ll be cooking up a bird and our friends Penny and Yuri are coming for dinner with their son Noah. It’ll be his first Christmas and the poor thing is sick with a cold. I know what you are thinking, I’m sure I’ll be whining on here before New Years because I caught it, and you’re probably right… but it’s worth it to be with friends on Christmas.
This is my deco addition for this year,a cute skating rink with a Christmas tree in the middle. The skaters go around and around and stop as they come around the side because Santa is there waiting to take their photo!
It’s so cute, but it does look better at night, I should try to get some photos then. It plays Christmas music too, but I can only stand that for so long before turning it off.
Well, that’s it… I hope you all have a great Christmas, however you plan to spend it!
