Movies! Movies! Movies!

While my parents were here we got together with our friend Alan for dinner and a movie. That afternoon before we went out he was pitching the idea of this unlimited movies card he got a while back and why we should get one. Here in NL there is a chain of movie theaters called Pathe and with their Pathe Unlimited card you can see unlimited movies for 17,50 euros / month.

At first I wasn’t too keen on it but the more I thought about it, and the more Alan told me tales about him going to one movie, coming out and going straight into another, the more the idea grew on me. One movie costs 8,50 euros and I go at -least- once or twice a month, so after two movies the card is pretty much paid for. Then any movies you go to after that are gravy.

In the end we decided to both got a card and have already gone to enough movies to have paid for it. Alan was right, this is pretty cool!

While my parents were here we saw two movies:

Mission Impossible III was ok but I’m not a fan of the Mission Impossible movies. It was one of those action packed movies that keep you entertained and you don’t leave feeling like you wasted your money, but it isn’t a movie I would tell friends they must see. From what I can remember I liked it better than the first two but I’ll probably say Mission Impossible IV was better than the first three, simply because I can’t remember them.

Lucky Number Slevin beat Mission Impossible III by a mile. It starts outa bit confusing and slow but as the story moves on it gets more interesting. There is action but also quite a decent story which you actually spend time talking about with the people you saw it with. I like movies with an interesting twist and this has one, one I actually didn’t see coming, which is even cooler. Also, HOW cute is Josh Hartnett?!

There are quite a few movies coming up that I want to see and now that we have those cards we’ll probably go to the theater to see some movies we ordinarily would just download.

My “To See” list for the next two weeks:
Over the Hedge
The Da Vinci Code
X-Men: The Last Stand
Silent Hill
Poseidon

This card was made for people like me.

  1. Hey! Thanks a bunch for your lovely comment! YAY for our similar fandom love!!! :D Serenity/Firefly pwns my life! JAYNESTOWN = LOVE! It would be impossible to pick a fav. but it’s definitely up there because who isn’t hopelessly obsessed with Jayne??
Dead Like Me is just another example of an amazing show that was cancelled! I seem to take to those types of shows *sigh* I’d like to murder fox, not just for Firefly but for Arrested Dev. as well!

Josh Hartnett is quite delicious, I loved just the few minutes he was in Sin City! Lucky Number Slevin looks great, too.
I’m dying for X-3, it looks like it will be the best of the 3 so far. And Poseidon looks amazing as well!
I only want to see MI-3 because of J.J. ;) I adore Alias and Lost like there’s no tomorrow, so anything he does must be good!

I love your blog and I will definitely stop by often, as well! It’s always great to have someone with similar fandoms to squee with ;)
    Take Care!
