Allergic To Nature

On Sunday Xander and I went to the Biesbosch in Brabant, just south of here.  It’s quite lovely around there with lots of water and nature.  There are boats you can rent to see the area from a different perspective and lots of trails for biking and hiking.   We drove around the area for a few hours, stopping every so often for me to take some photos, and I got so excited about the beautiful weather and being out in it that I suggested we turn off the airco and drive with the windows down.

Big mistake…

It wasn’t long before Xander was almost in convulsions from his allergies.  He told me he is allergic to nature and thinks we should go home.  So, we went home, but it was still a lovely day out together and we will try to visit again soon.

  1. Hi Breigh,
I don’t think there is a better way to spend a sunny afternoon in Amsterdam than out on the water.

I am a member of a boat club in Amsterdam, http://www.sloepdelen.nl. It is open to the public, you pay a 15 EUR fee per month during the season (meaning March through October), you can book a reservation online for any time slot you prefer, then they will send you a text message to your telephone with a code, you take that code to the boat dock (2 locations in Amsterdam) and punch in the code in the box at the dock, the door opens and a light is illuminated above the key. You pull the key out, go unlock the boat from the dock, insert the key into the ignition, push the lever forward and off you go around the canals of A’dam.
If you have any further questions, feel free to e-mail me at james.ashburn@gmail.com or see http://jamesonthecanal.blogspot.com.
I am going to add your blog to my blog roll. ;)

    Cheers!

  4. Lovely pictures. :) Love the cows, lol. I don’t know why. I always got so excited to see cows everywhere while I was in the Netherlands. I’d be like “Koe, koe!” and they just wouldn’t understand my excitement. Cows are cute there. :P

I understand how he feels, I’m allergic to Holland. I use Xyzal, it kind of works. Leander is allergic to outside too, but that’s just because he’s a jerk nerd who would rather never see sunlight.
