FAME!!
Ok, normally I’m not one for remakes. I heard they are remaking Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Footloose, which makes me go uuuuugh, and I’m absolutely dreading the day they even TRY to remake a great one like Dirty Dancing.
I can’t help it, I am really looking forward to this one. I LOVED the TV show when I was a kid and while I thought the movie they made back in the day sort of sucked, I’m hoping this one is better. Shame there will be none of the old gang though (that I know of, other than Debbie Allan who will be playing the Principal)… Doris, Danny, Leroy, COCO! Oh man, I’m getting all nostalgic.

I too loved that show and look forward to the movie aswell. I hope they never even think about remaking Dirty Dancing..it’s bad enough they are remaking Footloose..seriously why??

It looks nothing like the old Fame, but holy cow goosebumps!
I just finished watching season 1 of Fame on dvd (I found it on sale at BestBuy for really cheap). I cannot wait for the new movie. Just hope its good.
Oh I loved the original movie, but hated the TV show with a passion. I think it was the music that was a let down since I just loved the song On My Own.
Leroy won’t be back for sure…he died of Aids a few years ago, I think…
Ah, Dirty Dancing… so many memories or trying to look like Jennifer Grey! I had a crush on Patrick I think. I was young and innocent of course… I’d have to see a remake.

Hi Breigh, thanks for visiting Life Abroad! It’s great finding another Canadian in the NL. I love Dirty Dancing, and somehow thought it would be smart to watch “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights”….not a good idea. Hopefully this re-make will do the original justice. I saw Dirty Dancing on Broadway and loooved it, but if they ever tried to remake the actual movie, I’m sure it just wouldn’t be the same.

oh god! I used to watch this show when I was a kid in my underoos eating Mr.T cereal! This one does look promising, but i pray they stop making remakes of old movies. I mean once you reach greatness how do you top it? Come on now, you cannt out do ‘Animal House’ with any possible remake or ‘Clockwork Orange’ you just cannt!
