Walking Shoes

Wow, was I dramatic yesterday or what? Lets just blame my ovaries, shall we? (I blame them for everything, btw) So Friday night I went shopping and got a scale, found one that actually does pounds instead of kilos, which I like. It’s digital too… NO I’m not going to tell how much I weigh. Good grief! Talking about dieting on here is enough without getting into the really embarassing details. One thing I noticed is that I was 1.5 pounds lighter naked than when I had my jammies on. So, of course I will weigh myself naked from now on. I will just keep track of it weekly though. Not that I won’t obsessively peek at the scale every day, I’ll just total it up every Saturday morning.

I also got new shoes. They’re comfy enough, of course I haven’t worn them walking yet. I’m still waiting for all the damn blisters to heal from my sucky shoes. I’m sure nobody is interested but I’m going to show them anyway. Damn things cost me almost 150 Euros, they deserve a pic:

It actually hurt me to spend that much on shoes. My god am I a cheap shopper or what? All these women spend hundreds and hundreds on these ridiculous looking shoes. High heels with sparkles and butterflies and shit, and here I am fretting over paying 150 Euros on sneakers to walk in. I haven’t spent that much on shoes in like 10 years, and that was on my Doc’s and I still wear those! I got a small size in guy shoes because the women’s were horrid! I mean wtf, you look at the guy’s section and they have all nice black/white, navy/grey/white colors then you look at the women’s and it’s all fucking pink/white, baby blue/white, etc. I almost wretched! The guy at the shop kept trying to talk me into getting these ridiculous Nike shoes that had like a pearly colored toe on it. I think he got the hint that he was about to get that girlie sneaker up his ass if he didn’t give in and let me try on boys shoes. I left satisfied with a very non-pastel pair of sneakers!

Anyway, I’m really glad I went out last night, I had a good time. We met up with Alan at the American Dream Cafe where we sat and had a drink outside and then went inside to have dinner. I had a chicken ceaser salad, which was yummmmy! I like getting ceaser salads in restaurants here because you can’t get romaine lettuce in this stupid country so making one at home is a pipe dream.

After dinner we went to see The Day After Tomorrow. I thought it was GREAT! Honestly though, I think most movies are great because they help me pass the time, but this one was highly entertaining so the time went by even quicker! The special effects were great and it had my attention the whole way through. The only thing that bugged me (I don’t know if this is a spoiler but I can’t imagine what it would give away) is when they are in the library and making the fire. They have this bickering session about burning books, right.. So I’m sitting there in the theater wanting to scream out “BURN THE TABLES YOU DUMBSHITS!”. Other than that the movie was believable enough for me. Of course, afterwards people were talking about scientific things that were wrong in it but who cares. The same people go and rave on about how great the Spiderman movie is, like that is believable? I don’t get people, I think they just want to wave around all the scientific facts they know and the movie gives them a good opportunity. So depending on what type of person you are, you’ll either love it or be irritated by it. At least that’s the impression I get.

After the movie we had to cut it short with Alan and go home to take the dog out and feed the zoo. I hobbled home, after wearing my new blue clog shoes out like an idiot… which added to my blister collection. I mean they were only $10 and they were cute, how could I not buy them?
