Forgetfulness

What do you mean you don’t know who Karl Barrus is?!

Ever wonder if I am kidding when I say how bad my memory is or how stupid I can be at times? Well, last week I bought two postcards to send to my friend Karl. The other night in bed I wrote them and put his name and my return address on them, but didn’t have his address handy so I thought I’d put it on in the morning. The next day I got up, chatted a while on IRC then took the dog for a walk and went by the post box and dropped them in.

Yesterday they came back to me. I forgot to put the damn address on! Now, usually I’ll buy cards/postcards and they never even get sent. I was so chuffed with myself that I actually remembered to send these ones. If you think I’m kidding, look on the shelf under my coffee table. There is a box of Christmas cards under there, half of them filled out and half empty. I bought them in 2002 and every year I think, well they are still good it’s not like I put a date on them. I’ll send them this year! Never do.

So, will Karl ever get his postcards? Who knows. I have to buy more stamps and put them in an envelope because the stupid post people already stamped over the one I have on there and… man, I mean don’t they know who Karl Barrus is?! Couldn’t they just have sent it? Good grief, lazy bastards.

Going to the beach today! Whoo hooo!
