The Ultimate Peanut Butter Cup

For some reason I’ve been craving Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups lately.  They aren’t even my favorite treat, although I do love the Reese’s Pieces.  It can’t be explained, I just want it… a lot!  We can’t get them here in the Netherlands though, and even if we could I should probably avoid them like the plague as I’m sure they are more Weight Watchers points than I think they are worth.  Still … WANT!

The one on the left will do. It should almost satisfy the craving!  I know a lot of my friends love PB Cups too so I would probably share.

Or maybe not, it’s hard to say.

It would be a cool idea for a party though, a giant PB cup.  For info on how to make your own click here for directions.  You better share with me though or I’m gonna be pissed.

It’s good if you’re trying to cut down your PB cup consumption to just one a day.

If the craving gets too bad, you can make these substitutes.

    1 cup butter
    1 cup peanut butter
1 cup icing sugar (up to 2 cups if you love things sweet)
2-1/2 cups crushed graham cracker crumbs (I’ve also pulverized whole oats in the blender which is less sweet, available all over–can’t remember if there are graham crackers in Holland–and I tell myself, healthier.)

Warm the butter so that it mixes easily with the peanut butter and other ingredients. Stir it up nice. Pat it into a cake pan (9x13ish). Then melt some chocolate (about two cups) and spread it over while warm.

Make sure you are bringing them out to a party or something because if you’re working on a craving, you’ll eat half the pan. Or at least I do.

Omg this sounds so good! I might try it this weekend. Worst case I can give them away to neighbours or give them to Xander to eat in his office hehe I’ll let you know how it works out!

Sometimes when I have a major craving, the white bread, choco pasta, and peanut butter smashed without crust works to content me!

If you hear some rustling around in your cupboard a little later, just ignore it. You’re hearing things, there is nothing to see. If your cups disappear, you should call an exterminator, I think you might have mice!!

Yum yum..I crave it too..you can buy them in expat shops but I can never justify the cost..lol I’ve tried making them here but the powdered sugar is not the same as in the U.S. and it tasted weird.

You should try again, and then again, and a few more times until you perfect it. Then you should mail me one :P I have faith in you! haha

I always have issues getting enough calcium into my diet, so one of my favourite ways to do so (and at the same time have a semi healthy indulgence) is to mix about 100g Fage Greek yogurt (the 0% fat kind) with 15g nutella + 15g peanut butter (smooth). I mix that all up with a sliced banana and call it a day. I’m not a yogurt fan at all, but for about 320cals this is one of my most favourite sweet snacks (I often eat it with lunch + something green)

That DOES sound good! One of my favorites is some light cream cheese (amount varies depending on how many WW points I have available hehe) usually around 60g-ish though. About 10g of AH Light sugar and then 5g of the Hero chocolate sauce. It’s like a poor man’s diet chocolate cheesecake, without the crust. Delicious! They sound somewhat similar, I’m totally going to try yours :D

  7. OMG don’t even talk to me about Reese’s Cups! I have had that craving for exactly one week, and you CAN get them here in Amsterdam! (score another one for Amsterdam!) I even turned my hotel colleague onto them, he’s dying to try one too. But as a vegan I can’t, and its killing me! Have to find a vegan version to make at home, and soon!
