What’s Small and Green and…

As promised, I’m introducing Frick!’s new little friend! He’s settled in nicely and I was finally able to get close enough to the aquarium with the camera to get a pic.

It took a while to think of a name for him. After watching him a while we realized that he’s smaller than Frick! and swims around like a weirdo. I said to my husband.. ‘What’s small and green and acts like a spaz?

Before he got the chance to answer, it hit me… RADAR!

If you don’t know where that came from, it means you’re too young and don’t even tell me because I feel old enough today after my visit to the doctor.

Ok ok … just in case you don’t know, this is Radar from the 70’s show M*A*S*H. I used to watch it all the time with my father when I was younger and Radar was one of my favorite characters in the show.

Him and Hot Lips Hulahan!

Small and cute and as geeky as they get. My weird little turtle will do his name proud!
Frick! and his Carrot Frick! Chowing Frick! Frick! and Radar

They are so cute! I just love ’em to bits :)

  1. Cool, right now i’m really wanting turtles. Of course, that desire may pass soon. LOL

  2. Radar is a great name. Frick! and Radar. They make a cute couple!

  3. Awww, what cute little turtles!

  4. Thanks for the heads up Tricia :) It’s cool though, the size difference is very very minimal. You probably wouldn’t even notice unless you sat them next to each other.

It’s good to know I have access to someone with a lot of knowledge on these things though! Thanks!

  5. Radar’s cute!

Hey I just wanted to let you know, if there is a big size difference really keep a good eye on Radar. Sometimes bigger turtles get aggressive and intimidate smaller ones or even attack them by biting at them. I used to keep aquatic turtles and one was smaller than the others … the largest ended up bitting the smaller turtles tail off. After that we seperated them.

Sorry if that’s a downer – just trying to help.

  6. He’s gorgeous! Nice shot! And love his name… I knew right away who you where referrring to and I’m deffinately not old!
