Brrrr

Breigh September 3, 2006 6

About 5 minutes ago as I was eating my fish sticks, I was listening to the wind howling outside and remembering how two years ago around this time of year I was sunburned from spending too much time in the sun. Two days from now two years ago I was laying on the beach in almost 30 degree weather.

It’s 20 degrees now with grey skies, rain and wind thrown in for good measure. I shivered and as an ad on TV was telling us about the new season of American Chopper starting on September 10th, I realized how all these fall / early winter months in end BRRR. SeptemBRRR, OctoBRRR, NovemBRR, DecemBRR… coincidence? I don’t think so.

Can you believe we had rain EVERY SINGLE day in August? I mean what is up with that? It’s just my luck… get a car and have easy access to the beach, then it doesn’t stop raining until summer is over.

Xander told me the other day that this was the wettest August in 100 years, I guess he read it somewhere. It figures though. It was the first summer that I was here and had transportation to the beach, of course it was the wettest in 100 years! :P

I think I need to send Mother Nature a basket of muffins or something, clearly she hates me.

Either that or I need to speak to my renter Dutchbitch and have her sort it out. If anyone can kick Mother Nature’s ass, it’s her!

    Hello,

From a fellow peep. I feel the same way about my summer. Although I have to admit I still have some 80+ days ahead of me here in Colorado. But for the most part it’s slipped away.

I’ve been kicking and kicking and it seems that I managed to squeeze a couple of “better” days out of it for the next few days… Not sure I managed to snap Mother Nature totally out of it… I fear I haven’t… That Bitch!

I like that kind of weather, drizzly days that keep you inside. I envy you!

I found your site and wanted to say hello, especially since my Dutch husband had dinner yesterday evening in Enschede (actually, Lonneker). I’m American, he’s Dutch. He’s visiting his parents in Hengelo(o) and I’m at our house in Austin, Texas. Hoe gaat het met jouw Nederlandse taal? Ik kan een klein beetje Nederlands praten en schrijven.
Mijn man en ik heeft ook op het internet elkaar gevonden.
Op juli waren wij tien jaaren getrouwed. Vriendelijke groetjes, Carrie
