A Sunday Run

Fun in the Rain

Oh you didn’t think I was the one running, did you?   Surely you know me better than that!

This morning we decided to take the dogs to a nearby area that is enclosed where they can run off their leads.  We were up early and it was a rather miserable day so we were confident that we’d have the place to ourselves.  That way we wouldn’t have to worry about Bailey picking fights with other dogs.

As you can see, they quite enjoyed themselves.  We brought a ball for them to play with, which kept Pixel highly entertained.  Bailey didn’t give it the time of day, he was far too busy running, jumping around and frantically eating grass.

With the amount of grass these two eat, we’re considering just putting them out to pasture for the summer.

They need to cut the grass in this area though, it’s fine for Bailey but poor Pixel, we almost lost her a few times.

If you look just to the left of Xander… Now see that little black smudge behind the weeds?

pixgrass

That’s Pixel.

That’s Pixel lifting off to hop through the grass, which is why you can actually see her, otherwise she’d not be visible at all.  Thankfully, she’s hyper enough to hop all over the place so it’s not hard to keep track of her.

I would have more photos, and better photos… but someone, I’m not going to mention any names (but his initials are Xander Soldaat) forgot to put the card back in my Exilim before giving it back to me this morning.

I LOVE the pic of Bailey!!! did u have you camera set on the action speed? Im learning how to use that one a bit better. Do you have to take them out often to make sure they get enough exercise? they are so adorable :)

Naw I just had it on auto, it was my point and shoot and I was just snapping a quick photo. Man was I ticked when I realized the card wasn’t in the camera!

They don’t require as much exercise as bigger dogs like Dalmations etc. Mostly because they can tear around the house and play without causing any damage, so they can get their energy out inside as well. It’s still nice to let them loose sometimes though. We don’t do it often because we worry so much about other people coming with their dogs and there being a fight. If only Bailey wasn’t such a shit when it comes to other dogs…

That picture of Bailey is priceless, and better because of the blur… you get that feeling of pure joy, too quick to be contained.

I have so many blurry dog photos. Getting them still is such a chore! I usually give up before I get a good photo haha

They take full advantage when they are allowed to run free, because it doesn’t happen very often :)
