Book Review - Deja Dead

Crap! I just realized that I left this post up all day with the wrong review up! The proper one is here now (Deja Dead). Ooops!

In other news, Xander got home last night! I must admit, it was kind of cool having the place to myself for a week but it’s definately nice to have him home. Plus, he brought home PRESSIES! I’ll get some pics once I’m more awake.

One thing he brought home that I didn’t particularly enjoy was big, hairy, sheddy dog stuff. I guess the hair, dander or whatever else he had on his clothes from being at his dad’s place with their dogs carried well on the journey home. Within an hour of him getting here I was wheezing and coughing. At 2am he was sound asleep and I was laying in bed with a water bottle taking tiny sips hoping that the tickle in my throat would go away.

It’s weird how I am allergic to bigger dogs, or any at all really, when I have so many furry little pets of my own. I’ll just have to wash his clothes really well and get them back to normal.

Can’t blame him for being all over those dogs though, I probably would have been too. He came home loaded with photos and the funniest video of one of the dogs spinning for his dinner. Animals can be so funny!

One of the gifts he brought home was from his mother for me, which I thought was really sweet. It’s a chain with a green stone, which Xander says “…will help with something, I forget what”. She is really into all that sort of things, you know… different stones for different type of physical and mental wellness. It has to hang and rest at a certain length, right sort of between my boobs. I’ll have to phone her to thank her and find out what it’s actually meant to do.

  1. MIL’s can be so thoughtful sometimes, but if you need it fitted into the right poition I volunteer

    Hugz

  2. Hi! I have been contemplating whether or not to buy this book. I thought the story is soo cool and since you gave it a big fat 5 stars..I think I am going to go get it and add to the ‘100 books I have not read’ in my room! Haha.

Dont worry too much abt those at IT2M..you just have to write from the heart..for yourself. Not for others.

  3. Obviously it is not meant to cure your dog allergy… or if it is, it’s not working ;-)

  4. Well glad Xander had a good trip and I bet your glad to have him back. Having the palce to yourself can be alot of fun, though I can’t sleep as well when Martin’s not here. Def a thoughtful gift from the mother in law…. sometimes they can just as thoughtful as from our own..:D

  5. I haven’t read any of her recent stuff..but her first 3 books were great..at least as good as PC’s I thought. I live in Montreal so I can maybe get into her stuff more because of that.

Check them out before giving up on her.

Deja Dead, Death du Jour and Deadly Decisions.

  6. Hey Mary :) Thanks for the advice. I did just finish reading Deja Dead and thought it was horrible. I bought Death du Jour at the same time as I bought Deja Dead so I’m going to read it and see if it is any better than the first one.

If not, I won’t be buying any more of her books.

I think living in Montreal would make a big difference, when she is getting seriously descriptive about where she is, what street she is on etc you guys at least know what she is talking about. To people outside Montreal, it’s just unnecessary detail.
