The Partial Canadian

Sunrise Trail

I was working on this photo from Canada today and I found myself sort of amused because in a way it represents who I am right now.  Proudly Canadian but with a piece missing, the piece of me that belongs to the Netherlands now.

Strange how certain things pop into your mind now and then, like how you can find yourself in or identify with a photo like this.

More photos from Canada coming soon, still slaving away at them!

  1. It looks like an Atlantic beach where I grew up in France! Minus the flag, of course.

Expats and immigrants always have a piece of themselves missing… the one home I guess.

  2. If it was not for the flag that could almost be a beach in Holland. that could fit with you as well, a Canadian flag in Holland.

    • Yeah it was really windy that day so the water looked all brown from the sand being churned up. You’re right, it does look like it could be a beach in Holland! I didn’t even notice that :)
