It’s time for Foad Thursday once again. It’s been a few weeks since I took part and I just remembered that there was something I meant to bitch and moan about but was saving for a Thursday.
Spitters. I don’t like them and I’ll never understand them.
I don’t remember a time I’ve ever hawked up a slimy one and spat it out onto a public street. Hell, I don’t think I’ve ever even done it on a street where I was the only one on it.
Why do people, men mostly (but not always I’ve witnessed this from women as well.. frighteningly enough!) just spit wherever they feel like it?
Can’t they just swallow their spit like the rest of us?
I find it’s mostly teenage guys who do it, like it’s the next coolest thing besides smoking and banging babes. I mean seriously, I’ve actually walked by a group of boys and seen them all spit within a few seconds of each other. Are their bodies that in tune that they are producing slimy unswallowable spit at the same time? Good grief…
For me, walking around in public is like walking through a green field in a park on a summer day. The only difference is I’m dodging people’s foamy globs of spit rather than dogshit.
Someone explain this to me? What are people getting in their mouths that is so horrid that it can’t be swallowed? Am I weird for never having to spit? All these Spitters make me feel like *I* am the weird one for not being repulsed by my own saliva.
I wish we had signs like this all over the city I live in, and some kind of fine like for littering.
I can’t even think about it without gagging.

I completely agree, living in a redneck backwoods town.
Yes it is a gross habit, and I will admit I am a spitter. But I know most of it comes from years of playing hockey, when your moth gets dry spitting out water, or just getting that icky taste out of your mouth afte a hard workout just has to be done. I also know that with myself, that I do have a minor pleghm problem, that if I dont spit it out, I will be throwing up in the next 5 minutes….so if I feel a tickle in my throat outside I will be spitting…..but I will try and do it in places where people arent around….

When I walk and look at the ground, it is sometimes like walking through a minefield.
Oh, and I am such a bitch who easily yells : ‘OHH YUCK, how disgusting’ … when I see someone spit like that.
Sometimes I feel like spitting at them … maybe that will help, it is sooo disgusting !
Well, sometimes it is a tick of Tourette’s Syndrome but I don’t support it either. Think of what would happen if people who had AIDS spat on the street and you slipped into their AIDS infested spit, that would suck immensely.
Oh, and the City of Calgary is working on placing a ban on spitting.

OH HOLY HELL!! You and me BOTH! WTF is up with this?? Back in the days of TB running rampant, it was illegal to spit on the street, because of the airborne nature of the disease, Now that it’s on the rise again, maybe we can outlaw this nastiness again. UGH!
I noticed some teenaged GIRLS the other day, walking down the street, smoking, and spitting with each puff. PRETTY! *eye roll* I wanted to yell out the car window at them that if it was so bad that they had to spit after each drag, maybe they shouldn’t be doing it…stupid, stupid girls.
To me, the thing boys do that is soooo dumb, is the wearing of the pants down below the butt cheeks. Don’t they know that started as a prison signal that you were someone’s bitch? Good grief. Why would they want to emulate THAT? UGH.
