Fire in the Sky

Project 365 (Day 52) Sunset

Today the sky looked so beautiful as the sun was going down.  After a few months of mainly wet and grey weather it really warms the cockles of my heart to see the sun.  It was shining bright all day today, even though it was bitterly cold outside.

Well, cold by Dutch standards, it was just below zero, which would be considered almost tropical back home in Canada.  I am definitely more Dutch in this regard, there is no way I could tolerate Canadian temperatures anymore.

Sky on Fire

I can’t wait until the spring and summer when we get to see more of the sun.  It not only lightens my mood but it makes for a lot better photo opportunities.  I think I could spend every evening on the balcony taking photos if the sun would just cooperate.

Sky on Fire

One thing I love is that even though the view never changes from my balcony, the sky is never the same.  There is never the same combination of cloud, wind or sunshine and that is one of the little things that makes life interesting.

The only down side to my love of taking photos of the sun and sky is that it takes ages for the spots to go out of my eyes before I can actually deal with the photos.

Small price to pay, if you ask me…

  1. Great photos. I’m already very happy that it is getting lighter in the mornings.

  2. Nice shot!

We had a beautiful cold sunset tonight, you know when the sky is clear blue and then turn purple slowly. The light was nice… but it’s so cold!

  3. Wow..beautiful pictures! I’ve been noticing the sunsets the last few days. I need to get Edwin to drive me to the end of the street so I can get a full view of it without the trees in the way. I have yet to capture a beautiful sunset like you have!

    • Is the end of your street that far away? haha I often wish I was up higher as well, they must get amazing views from the higher buildings in the city center etc. Jealous.
