The Crazy Men in My Life

The first crazy man in my life is my husband.   Last night he freaked me out again with his psycho sleep antics.  I was laying in bed reading my new Mike Gayle book (which was awesome!! I’ll write about that later) and Xander was sleeping next to me.   Suddenly he BOLTED upright in bed, threw the blankets off and sat cross legged on the bed with his hand up to his face like he was trying to look far off into the distance and was blocking out the sun or something… only he wasn’t looking ahead, he was looking down onto the bed in front of him, inspecting the covers he’d thrown off.

I asked him what was wrong but he didn’t answer me, he looked over at me and his eyes were totally bloodshot, for a second I thought he was crying.  He didn’t answer me and went back to looking at the bed.  When I asked him what was wrong he didn’t answer again, so I asked him what he was looking for.

“Tentacles!” he replied.

Uhhh, tentacles? Riiiiiight!

I gave him a little shake and asked him what he was on about.  Then he looked at me and said “Oh forget it” and laid down and immediately went back to sleep.   Of course, I’m not sure he ever actually woke up.

This really makes me wonder what my husband gets up to in his sleep when I’m not awake.   I swear to god, one day I’m going to wake up and he’s not going to be there… and god only knows where I’m going to find him!

ANYHOW, … moving on to the truly crazy man in my life, which I hope won’t be for long.

Today we phoned the rental company that our asshole upstairs neighbour rents from, they have been keeping us up to date with what is going on with him.   The judgement given in his eviction case is that the movement to dissolve his rental contract was accepted, but he has a two week grace period to pay up all of the rent he’s behind.  If he doesn’t then he has to leave.   From what we know it’s about a years worth of rent or more which is a few thousand euros.   I can’t imagine he’ll be able to come up with that in just two weeks but stranger things have happened.  I’m honestly hoping he doesn’t so that he’ll have no choice but to leave.

It sucks that the word of everyone else who lives here doesn’t matter.   Nobody wants him here and everyone is fed up with his trash hanging around, his drug addict friends and all the other negativity that comes along with him.  Our opinion plays no part in it though, which I think is ridiculous considering we own our flats and he is one of the last remaining renters.  We should have -some- say in who lives in the building, especially if they are as disruptive as he is.

Oh well, we’ll know for sure one way or the other after this two weeks passes.

  1. Are you sure it wasn’t you who was dreaming all of this and I was just sound asleep?
