Spring is Coming!

Although this winter hasn’t been nearly as bad for me mentally as other winters have been in the past, I’m still really excited to see signs of spring coming, like this blue sky out the window at work yesterday.

The temperatures have been going up slightly and the sun is starting to show itself more and more.   I love it!  Soon everything will be bright, the flowers will start coming out and everything will come back to life.    If my contract is extended I’m soooo going to love spending 8 hours a day in an air conditioned building.  Of course, if the weather is anything like last summer it won’t be necessary.

Tonight I have my first work party.   We are all going to a restaurant I’ve never been to where there will be some ‘fun announcements’, then a nice dinner and then drinking and partying.   I’m really looking forward to it because it will give me a chance to get to know the people I work with a bit better.

It’s another example of how the girls at work are making me feel like an old frump though.   While they are going out at lunch to buy little outfits for the party and talking about how drunk they are going to get, I’m calculating in my head…

Ok, so I get there at 6:30, dinner is at 7:30, the party starts at 9:30… I can be home and in my pajamas by 10:30…
