Adventures in Geocaching: Green & Park Rotterdam

Back in May Xander and I went geocaching for the second time, and I totally forgot to write about it!   It wasn’t long after our first geocaching adventure, and it looked like quite a fun one to do.  We were going to see a film that morning and decided that since this particular cache was in one of the parking areas in the city center, that we’d park there, walk to the theater and then do the cache before hopping in the car to go home.

What I really liked about the cache was that you were supposed to be able to somehow get a photo of yourself using one of the cities webcams that faces this parking building.  Unfortunately, when we checked it out on our computers before we left, the webcam wasn’t working. BOO!!

We decided to do it anyway…

Geocache
It took us a few minutes to find the cache, but when we did this is what it looked like.  A piece of wood attached to something (I’m not telling you what, find it yourself!) with a bottle clipped onto it.

The Geocache Before Opening
This is what the bottle looked like once it came out.  I didn’t know this but Xander told me that apparently this is what Cola bottles look like before they get blown up?  I’m not sure if that’s true or if it’s just another story he likes to tell me to see if I’ll believe it.  I really should look this up.

Tammt & Xander
This is us with the bottle.  Clearly it was pre-haircut.  I lived in a ponytail at the time and my hair loss was making me insane.  Looking at it now I’m even more glad I cut my hair.  If I mention letting it grow out again, please slap me.  Wait, unless a ton of my hair grew back I mean. If I have lush thick hair then by all means, allow me to try to grow it out again. I’d love to have a luscious mane.

Sorry, sidetracked!

Signing the Log
We signed the log.

The View
The view from the top of the car park.  Somewhere out there is a webcam that we should have been able to take a photo of ourselves with, but not that day!

This geocaching thing is actually quite fun. We aren’t as seriously into it as some others (yet) but we enjoy it!

  1. i had no idea about the petling…cool!

  2. Yup, that’s exactly what that is. Those are what PET bottles look like before they are reheated and formed into a bottle. I remember those from Saxco. :)
