The View

Out the Livingroom Window

This is what I see from the sofa in my mother in law’s living room.   She lives in what must be one of the most beautiful villages in all of Frace and every time I look out the window I get this ‘OMG I am in France!’ feeling.  It’s really cool.

Notice the Siamese cat in the top window?   I almost had a heart attack when I saw it but apparently he’s up there all the time.   We are after putting all this wire netting on our balconies because we are worried about them jumping off.   Are we overly protective or are these people careless, I wonder.

Today we are off to see the big bridge at Millau.  I first saw it on the discovery channel and have been hellbent on making sure I see it while I am here.  I hope the weather keeps up so I can get some good photos.

  1. Wow,what a view!! so beautiful

  2. I love your blog! I’ve been reading it since early March and check it often.

Those cats live in luxury! I thought I spoiled my little brat, but, apparently not.

Have a great holiday! Your pics have helped me prepare for mine in The Netherlands later this month.

  3. I’ve started taking the cats out for supervised balcony time, and I think come summer I can probably start to leave the door open for them to go in and out as they please. My neighbors do that for their cats and the cats seem to understand that they’re not to jump off the balcony (though they’re perfectly capable of getting themselves up to the railing and jumping off if they want). I’m going to do a few more supervised visits just to make sure they’re clear on the concept that they’re three stories up in the air!

Great picture! As for the cats, some of them are klutzs. I have one that knocks over every liquid filled container and everything else in her way. Now she doesn’t fall off things (we have a 6 foot cat tower) but you never can tell and they’re all different. I wouldn’t take any chances. I’ve heard of them falling out the odd time.

  6. beautiful.. have a fun time!
