Restaurant Review – Tommy’s Diner (Montpellier, France)

Tommy's Diner

Each year when we visit the south of France, we make a point of visiting the Odysseum shopping center in Montpellier.  We shop around a bit, go for lunch and maybe get an ice cream. Each year I eyed the same diner for lunch but we always ended up going somewhere else.  We went to another burger place, an Italian place, etc  and they were always nice restaurants but the North American in me screamed DINER!! 50’s DINER!!  I just had to go there. This year we did! It has been so long since I’ve been in a diner of any ... Read More »

Holiday Review: Les Cabanes de Rensiwez

credcabin6_thumb.jpg

After putting Project Baby to bed Xander and I made a promise to each other to make a point of enjoying our freedom.  To take time out together and take little getaways when we can and splurging on ourselves when we are able. We had had such a stressful year in 2013 that we really wanted to find a place where we could get away early in the year and just relax.  I scoured the internet looking for just the right place and nothing seemed to fit the bill.  Anywhere in the Netherlands just didn’t offer the privacy or space ... Movie Review: One For The Money

oneforthemoneyfeat

Ok, this has been a long time coming but I think I’m finally able to write about it! haha  I don’t know if you followed my love of the Stephanie Plum series but this is something I’ve been discussing for a while.  I used to daydream about a movie being made from this series and came up with my own castings for the movie.  I think they were pretty good but whatevs. When it was announced that there would actually be a movie and I saw the real castings, I wasn’t so sure about it but I thought that if ... Polish Review: Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black

kleancolorholoblk

Now that I’m back on the nailpolish bandwagon, I needed to add a little sparkle to my life. I couldn’t choose which of my new polishes to try so I closed my eyes and picked one!  Well, two actually.   The above photo is a base of Revlon’s Lunar with a top coat of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black. As you can see this polish is one of those uber cool holos that changes color depending on how the light hits it.  The colors range from a nice deep red, through the spectrum of oranges, yellows and greens.  Loooooove! The Kleancolor Chunky ... Read More »

Movie Review: Temple Grandin

templefeat

A few years ago when I was watching the Emmy’s and saw Claire Danes win an award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Mini Series or Movie, for a movie called Temple Grandin.  When I saw bits of it in the intro I it caught my attention and I made a mental note to check it out.  I ended up watching it the next day and I loved it. My husband and I have been watching a new series called Homeland, which is great and I will probably write more about it later, and it also stars Claire Danes.  We ... Read More »

Holiday Destination Review: Pic du Midi

SONY DSC

One of the main reasons we chose the Pyrenees as our little side trip while in the south of France was because I’d seen the Pic du Midi online.  Once I saw it, I knew that’s where I wanted to go, and thankfully Xander wasn’t at all bothered and was happy to let me choose the location.  We specifically chose our campground because it was within a reasonable distance. We actually visited the area twice, but the first day it was too cloudy and they said we wouldn’t be able to see anything, so we moved on and visited some ... Read More »

Review: Camping Pyrenees Natura

naturafeat

When my husband and I agreed that we wanted to take a few days in the Pyrenees during our trip to the south of France, we initially wanted to just book ourselves a gite (cabin) or B&B.  It turned out that with only a few weeks notice and us arriving the week before the Tour de France, that wasn’t going to happen.  So we started looking into alternatives. We looked at a place that had Mongolian Yurts, which looked really cool, but were unfortunately booked already.  Then I thought, well… if we were going to stay in a tent, why ... Read More »

TV Review: The Big C

bigcfeat

When I first heard about Showtime’s new show The Big C last year, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  All I knew was that it was a show about Cancer, it sounded like a Reality show that would hit way too close to home for me.  Cancer? Really? Do they have to go there? Having lost so many people I love to Cancer, I couldn’t stand the thought of it being made light of at all.  I had images in my head of these people being exploited for money, possibly doing this Reality TV show to make money to leave ... Catrice Forget Me Not: Review

forgetmenot

It’s no big secret that I love purple, I’m pretty sure I’ve thrown that out there a few times already.  So when I bought this for a swap partner and found out she already had it on the way in another swap, it really wasn’t a task for me to slip it into my own stash and give it some love! It already looked beautiful in the bottle, I love the bits of silver swirling around.  Application was lovely, it isn’t one of those polishes that look dark and then you end up doing endless coats.  I was quite surprised ... Sinful Colors Green Ocean: Review

greenocean

After slowly working through my polishes from my big swap I finally tried Sinful Colors Green Ocean.  I  used a base layer of Essence Multi Dimension XXL Shine Fatal and one good coat of the Green Ocean over top. My first impression?  “OoooOOoooOOoh!”.  Being me, I just love everything glitter, flakie, etc so it goes without saying that I just love the effect when watching it go on.  The color was exactly what it said it would be, it’s like a green ocean with deep blue when looking at it from the right angle.  It went on pretty well, it ... Rawwrr! Night Prowl! – Review

nightprowl

I love black… I love purple… I love glitter.  OMG I LOVE BLACK PURPLE AND GLITTER!!  When it comes to me and polish, I’m not sure it gets any better than Wet n Wild Wild Shine Night Prowl!  I’m in love! It goes on smooth and evenly, it takes two coats (or one if you put it on thick enough) to get a nice cover, and it’s just so damn subtle and pretty!  Ok, not subtle in the way that a nude color would be, but when you look at some of my other more ‘blingy’ polishes I’ve worn, the ...
