365 Days of Self Portraits: Days 36 – 42

In an effort to gain self confidence and deal with body image issues still remaining after my weight loss, I decided to take part in a 365 project focusing on self portraits.  My hopes are that after a year of taking a photo of myself ever day, that I will stop hating photos of myself, stop picking apart the things I hate about my body and learn to accept myself in a way that I haven’t been able to before.  It is uncomfortable, challenging and at times scary as I am also putting myself out there in a way I ... Adventures in Geocaching: Green & Park Rotterdam

Back in May Xander and I went geocaching for the second time, and I totally forgot to write about it!   It wasn’t long after our first geocaching adventure, and it looked like quite a fun one to do.  We were going to see a film that morning and decided that since this particular cache was in one of the parking areas in the city center, that we’d park there, walk to the theater and then do the cache before hopping in the car to go home. What I really liked about the cache was that you were supposed to be ... Read More »

My Gastric Bypass: Post Haircut Hair Loss

WOW, what a difference a haircut makes!  Check this out. This was my hair loss before I cut my hair: That wasn’t even the worst of it, this was when it just began. There were days that I easily lost twice as much, like what I lost on this day: So after getting sick of it I decided to cut my hair shorter and now I am having a major WTF moment, because look at what I find on my hands in the shower now, since the haircut: WHAT IN THE HELL?  It’s hardly even there! So my only conclusions ... Read More »

My Husband’s New Wife

Don’t worry, I’m still talking about me!  He hasn’t gone out and found another wife or anything, even tough I’ve been urging him to find one that likes doing housework.  I could get into a little Sister Wives action if the other wife would do all the stuff I hate. No, what I’m talking about is my husband’s recent exclamations about how he feels like he’s getting a new wife! There have been changes happening over the last few years, especially since my gastric bypass in January.  It was only over the last few days that he’s really been feeling ... Read More »

My Gastric Bypass: The Hair Loss Continues

Well it’s been a month now since I first started noticing an increase in my hair loss, and it hasn’t slowed down a bit.  If anything it’s gotten worse.  The only good thing, if there is one, with this hair loss is that it’s happening all over my head rather than just on the top.  With the Androgenic Alopecia that I had from the PCOS it all seemed to come out on the top of my head and the crown but this is coming from all over, thank GOD.  If it was all just concentrated on the top I would ... My Gastric Bypass: Getting Real About Hair Loss

First, let me say… UGH! Second, let me say… DOUBLE UGH! Right, well now that I have that out of the way, I can get down to the topic at hand, hair loss. The view this morning when I looked over the side of my chair.  A graveyard of lost hair I’ve pulled off my shirt over the past day or so… and that is only this one particular spot in the house. Not even the tip of the iceberg. I have to give a bit of a disclaimer here because the hair loss issue is nothing new to me. ... Read More »
