Jonah Mowry–Sad or Sham?

jonahfeat

I don’t remember the last time I felt so completely taken by someone on the internet.  By taken, I mean shammed, bamboozled, tricked… It all started yesterday morning when I saw this video, made by Jonah Morwry, on George Takei’s Facebook Page… [youtube id=”TdkNn3Ei-Lg” width=”600″ height=”350″] Sad, right?  Honestly, I was sobbing my head off watching this video.  I shared it on Facebook and talked about it with my friends.  I couldn’t believe that this adorable boy was being made fun of and felt so terribly about himself.  What kind of world do we live in?!  I watched it about ... Ever Felt Like You Were Being Watched?

freakfeat

The above photo shows you what I see when I look out my living room window.  We live across from a seniors complex and I’ve posted a few times about how I feel a bit like we live in a goldfish bowl.  When you are sitting on my sofa, this is what you see… Ok, without the window cleaning brush, I mean.  The buildings are quite a lot closer than they look in the first photo, so it’s pretty easy to look into each other’s windows, and that has always bugged me. It has never bugged me more, however, than ... Read More »

Fat Ad Shaming Women?

I just read this article on my beloved ONTD (I LOVE this site, so great for celeb gossip) and I’m all sorts of torn about what I think about it. The gist is, the overweight lady on the bottom of the ad has a website that caters to chubby chasers, people who like big women.  She has photos for sale on her website and Ashley Madison, the company that is being called out in the article, bought the photo and paid a license for it.  Now, this gives them the right to use the photo in whatever way they want… ... Review: Le Jardin de Saint Adrien

SONY DSC

On the same day that my husband and I visited Salagou and Moureze with my mother-in-law, we also went to visit Le Jardin de Saint Adrien.  It’s a beautiful privately owned garden that was created from the ruins of an old rock quarry.  It is actually someone’s back yard!  In the summer months they open it up as a public garden for people to view it, and we were there just at the right time of year. My MIL had been there previously with some friends and really liked it, so we decided to make this our last stop for ... Read More »

Have I Been Living in The Netherlands Too Long?

mill17

A friend shared this article on Facebook earlier and the list made me laugh a bit because a fair few of them really do apply to me!  Some not, but many… oh hell yes. I’m sorry, I just had to stop at number 81 and come back up here to say that this is quite possibly the most ridiculous NL list I’ve ever seen, but since I actually GOT to 81 I am too stubborn to stop, and therefore, I insist on still sharing it with the rest of you.  I should have read the entire thing before running to ... Don’t Hate Facebook, Hate Your Friends!

facebook

So, you’ve recently noticed changes to your homepage on Facebook and you are freaking out.  Suddenly you see posts between your friends and people you don’t know, the layout is different, you don’t know where to find what… you are LOSING. YOUR. MIND. First, take a deep breath. It’s not as bad as it seems!  Facebook has changed many times over the years it’s been around and we’ve always managed to adapt.  You’ll adapt to this too, it really isn’t the end of the world. Second, stop listening to the idiots on your friends list who are acting like Armageddon ... Read More »

101 List – My First Pedicure

pedifeat

Last week my friend Penny and I got together for pedicures.  It was my very first pedicure ever, can you believe it?!  It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but either I didn’t want to spend the money on it or I was freaked out about people messing with my feet. Penny kept pushing me on it, so I finally gave in and decided to give it a go.  Another friend told us about a place in Zuidplein where she goes, so we decided to go there. First, let me say I was  little wary.  After my experience with getting ... Read More »

The Day I Almost Killed a Cyclist

bikerfeat

Rant incoming! It’s about people, and how they suck… and the rules of the road in the Netherlands that I just don’t understand! Today my husband and I were driving to the supermarket, and he nearly hit a biker with the car.  We both instantly thought that the guy was in the wrong, and apparently he thought the same about us. Here’s the scene: We were driving along the street when we came along one of these weird dremples (speed bumps) with the pole next to it.  The reddish lane is a bicycle lane, but this old-ish lady in a ... My War on Asia

treefeat

Living in a flat in Rotterdam brings with it a lot of interesting interactions with neighbours.  We have been living in this flat for over ten years and while we do have some really awesome neighbours, we have also had some total jerkoffs, inconsiderate twats (who we totally busted) and royal pains in the ass. There’s one neighbour that I’ve decided I’m going to declare war with.  I’m not quite sure how, but I’ve been trying to hatch a plan over the last two or three years and I’m sure I’ll come up with something good any minute now. They ... Read More »

30 Days of Truth: Day 18

30daysfeat18

So here’s the thing, I couldn’t give a crap about gay marriage. The same goes for polygamy, swingers, open marriages and any other unconventional adult relationship.  I think as long as everyone involved are consenting adults, leave them the hell alone.  It’s not our business what goes on in other people’s bedrooms and none of us should be able to tell anyone else who they can love or spend their lives with. I’m completely non-religious so the whole homosexuality is a sin argument is lost on me.  Having sex with young boys is also a sin, from what I hear, ... Read More »

30 Days of Truth: Day 16

30daysfeat16

Oh this is going to be a long list.  There are a lot of things and people I could most definitely live without!! I could live without the rainy, dreary winter weather here in the Netherlands. Sammi and Ronnie from Jersey Shore. I will admit to watching it when I’ve run out of other shows, and I cannot stand these two.  I don’t know how the rest haven’t drowned them in the hot tub yet. My period. Seriously, I’ve had almost 300 of them already, enough is enough. Justin Bieber.  I’m SO over this kid, even if he IS Canadian. ... Read More »
