The Early Bird Gets The… Theater!

Today me (middle), Penny (right) and Laila (left) got up bright and early and went into the city center to see the new Sex and The City movie.  We chose to go early on a Saturday so that they could arrange child care and we’d have time for lunch and shopping afterward.  I won’t get into too much about the movie, it was pretty much what you expect from Sex and the City.  Perhaps it was a little more silly and less emotionally driven than the first one but a very good laugh.  It got two out of three thumbs ... Ranger and Morelli Cast For Stephanie Plum Movie

Ever since I first heard that this movie is happening, I’ve been impatiently waiting to find out who Stephanie Plum’s leading men would be.  I really do dig Katherine Heigl as Stephanie and was really worried that they would go all wrong with the casting of Ranger and Morelli.  I was also keen to see if, by some slim chance, they went with my choices, but no such luck. That doesn’t mean it’s all bad though… let’s have a little look-see at who will be playing these two men that are so near and dear to our hearts. JOE MORELLI ... Read More »

Katherine Heigl Already More Plum-Like

It’s been a few months now since it was announced that Katherine Heigl will be playing Stephanie Plum in the upcoming film One For The Money, which is the first installment in the 20 book series by Janet Evanovich.  While I am fully behind her in the role a lot of people are not convinced.  One of the things I was worried about was that they wouldn’t try to make her really look like Stephanie.  Heigl is well known for being a rather flashy, blond bombshell and Stephanie is pretty much the opposite, more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of ... 100% Chance of Meatballs

Tonight my husband and I had a meatball themed night.  We didn’t even really plan it that way, but I’m taking advantage of the coincidence so I can blog about it.  It started off with our dinner plans, Xander was cooking Knorr Chinese Beef Shanghai, which I never remember so I just call it Nutty Balls.  It’s meatballs in a somewhat nutty flavoured sauce with a bit of tauge served with chinese mie noodles.  Yummeh! I had been talking to some friends over the weekend who said they had recently seen the movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and ... Read More »

Katherine Heigl To Play Stephanie Plum

That’s right folks!  According to Variety, Katherine Heigl is lined up to play Janet Evanovich’s claim to fame and everyone’s favorite bounty hunter – Stephanie Plum!!  In the upcoming film, One For The Money, she’ll be hunting down the hottest cop in Trenton!  One For The Money is the title of the first book in soon to be 20 book series, with Sizzling Sixteen due for release in June of this year. You may remember me sharing my Stephanie Plum Movie Castings around this time last year.  My first choice was Sandra Bullock, but apparently it’s not meant to be.  ... Read More »

I Am Switching Teams!

I’m a fan of Twilight, I don’t think that’s any secret around here.  Even though the first movie frustrated me with Bella’s lip biting and head wobbling, the missing pieces and the bits thrown in that weren’t even in the book… I’ve still watched it again.  Ok more than once, leave me alone! While reading the books I was also sort of 50/50 in regards to which team I was on.  Sometimes I felt like I was Team Edward, sometimes I felt like I was Team Jacob.  Neither one really won me over completely.  I loved them both equally for ... International Film Festival Rotterdam

Last night my friend Heather and I attended the International Film Festival here in Rotterdam.  I have never been to a film festival of any kind so I had no idea what to expect.  It was her idea, and in the beginning I was willing to go but wasn’t entirely on board.   I’m not a big lover of what I like to call artsy fartsy films (Lost in Translation, Dancer in the Dark) and that’s exactly what I imagined I’d be seeing.  I was not convinced. Heather is usually quite good at getting me out of my comfort zones and ... Read More »

My Scarpetta Movie Castings!

Around this time last year I did a post about what my choices would be for Stephanie Plum Movie Castings, if she were ever to come to the big screen.  There has been a lot of debate about it, but I still stand firmly behind my selections. The other day I saw an article on the MOVIETASTIC website SCREENRANT about the Patricia Cornwell’s Scarpetta Series (one of my other favorites) being made into a movie.  Who did they choose to play the lead role of Dr. Kay Scarpetta?  None other than Angelina Jolie *Shock horror*  I’m not so not on ... More Blasts From My Past

We all know I’m terrible for taking long, agonizing walks down Memory Lane, right? Well… I’m at it again! Out of the blue a few days ago I started humming the theme song to The Littlest Hobo.  When I told my husband about it he had never heard of the show so I started singing the tune to him.  Then today I saw my friend Gail posted a video with the same tune.   Most of you probably have no idea what it is, but if you were a child in the 70’s and 80’s in Canada, this will probably tug ... X-Men Origins: SANTA

I just saw the funniest video.  It’s a parody of the X-Men films using a mixture of movies like Wolvrine, Max Payne, Batman Begins, The Hulk and Blade and then put together with bits from different Tim Allen films. Generally I’m not a fan of spoofy movies that make fun of other shit.  Scary Movie, Naked Gun, and all the like just make me want to gouge my own eyes out. This shit though, I love. Perhaps because it’s less than four minutes. Enjoy! P.S. Marky Mark could invade my Christmas with his big gun anytime. Read More »

I’m Gonna Live Forever!

Baby remember my name! FAME!! Ok, normally I’m not one for remakes.  I heard they are remaking  Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Footloose, which makes me go uuuuugh, and I’m absolutely dreading the day they even TRY to remake a great one like Dirty Dancing. I can’t help it, I am really looking forward to this one.   I LOVED the TV show when I was a kid and while I thought the movie they made back in the day sort of sucked, I’m hoping this one is better.  Shame there will be none of the old gang though (that ...
