Go Fetch!

Breigh August 3, 2010 18

Recently the topic of children has been brought up again between my husband and I.  Do we want them? Do we want to continue as we are and live our own lives free of that responsibility?  Are we willing to go to the lengths we need to go to in order to have them?  Do we want to GO THERE again?

It’s all very confusing, but today something happened to me that has made my decision just a little bit easier. It made me realize that I really do want children afterall.

They’d be really handy for fetching my granny panties when they fall off the line.

I reconsider my stance on no kids whenever I’m faced with laundry and taking out the recycling.

I’ve also thought that they’d come in handy for walking the dogs too. The only problem is that I’d have to wait quite a few years before they were old enough to walk them on their own.

Would you consider renting them out? :P

    Hahahahahahahahahahaha

    Love it

I’ve come to a similar conclusion lately… kids would be really great at cleaning the space under my stairs… luckily I have a niece and a nephew to do that for now so there’s less rush for me :-P

The nephew idea is intriguing. All our siblings live out of the country though. Maybe I can hire the neighbour’s kids.

You could use kids to fetch your washing but there would be more washing because of the kids… it’s a double edged sword.

Good point. Unless I also teach them to wash their own clothes!

Can’t a dog or a cat do that?

    Okay okay, I’m out

Naw, if I let my dogs loose they’d be too busy chasing everything else. Then I’d need someone to fetch the granny panties AND the dogs! :P

Lol, we’ve been having similar talks here, which has been weird. Same thing – do we want to take that on, with all the changes it would mean.

I’ve told him that at the moment, I’d be willing to incubate the sucker, but it’d be like “his pet” as far as changing, watering, taking for walks and so on goes. Of course I’d love it too, but the dirty work’d be his. Which I’m pretty sure means we’re (or I’m) not ready yet!

haha yeah, don’t think you are quite ready yet! Although you’d have 9 months to get used to the idea.

    Hahahaha!!! You’re hilarious. :P

I’m almost done convincing my Dutchy that we need kids so he can have someone to play with. ;)

I’d take some time to get used to living here with just the two of you first :) I think having kids in NL is an entirely different animal than just living here on your own.

I think my husband wanted kids so they could fetch him beer.

I’m pretty sure Xander would see that as an added bonus as well. I’m surprised he hasn’t tried to train the dogs to do it yet.
